The city of Arequipa is quite big, but beautiful town just below the tip of the Peruvian Altiplano.Arequipa is a city in southern Peru and the second largest city. It is also the capital of the Arequipa region and the province of Arequipa. The city lies at the foot of the snowy peaks of El Misti volcano in the highlands. Arequipa has many fine colonial era Spanish buildings built of chairs, a white volcanic rock used extensively in the construction of nacre of the city, which gets its nickname La Ciudad Blanca ( “White City”).
